Pennsylvania Tax Credits: R&D and More

by H2R CPA Team

Do you qualify for Pennsylvania’s R&D tax credit? If so, you can now apply online. The PA Department of Revenue is launching a new online application system for the Research and Development Tax Credit that can be accessed through its website.

All R&D credit applications must be submitted online by 9/15/18 to be eligible for the program. There are no limits to the number of applications that may be filed, so a taxpayer may file a request for one or multiple businesses.

In addition to Research and Development, Pennsylvania provides tax credits in the following areas:

  • Mixed-Use Development
  • Malt Beverages
  • Mobile Telecommunications Broadband Investment
  • Education
  • Keystone Innovation Zone
  • Keystone Special Development Zone
  • Historic Preservation
  • New Jobs
  • Neighborhood Assistance
  • Resource Enhancement and Protection
  • Enterprise Zone
  • Entertainment Production
  • Pennsylvania Resource Manufacturing
  • Coal Refuse Energy and Reclamation
